Reverent, Documentary Photography with Film inspired
Hi, my name is
Brittney Rodriguez
CATHOLIC WEDDING AND LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHER SERVING ALABAMA & BEYOND
I’ve always had a camera in my hand.
From a young age, I loved documenting life as it unfolded — the quiet moments, the joyful ones, and everything in between. Even then, I was drawn to preserving beauty and meaning, not just taking photos.
It all began... in 2015
Well it actually started way before that because I have always had a digital camera to play with before i could even remember. My parents would purchase me small digital Canons and Nikons that would fill me with joy as I captured the simplicity of everyday. But in 2015 I was gifted my very first DSLR which started it all.
(This was one of the first few photos I took of myself while learning how to use my camera.)
Finding My Way
When I got to college, I felt unsure of my direction. I loved beauty. I loved weddings. I loved photography. But I couldn’t quite name how I fit into all of it.
I explored every path that felt close to my heart. I worked as a bridal consultant, helping brides say yes to their wedding dress. I interned for a bridal magazine, learning how stories are shaped and shared. I worked for my university’s social media team, capturing raw, real emotion on the football field moments that couldn’t be posed or repeated.
I loved all of it — and yet, that love made the decision harder.
I believed success meant choosing something more “real.” More practical. More feasible. My idea of growing up was shaped by the belief that passion had to take a back seat to security.
And in the midst of all of it, I found the Lord.
A Call to Trust
Through the ache, the wonder, and the searching of those college years, God gently called me to give of myself in full trust. So I did. I stepped away from the version of success I thought I was supposed to chase and took a leap of faith I never imagined I would.
That leap led me to Napa, California, where I joined a summer program designed to teach young adults how to work with excellence, honor rest, and grow deeply in faith. To many, it didn’t look like résumé-building or a clear career move — but it transformed everything for me.
It reshaped my understanding of work, vocation, and success. My heart was changed, and I discovered a desire to do all things — especially my work — for the glory of God.
But the Lord was not finished with my story.
He blessed me with my now-husband — a gift that deepened my love for beauty and shaped the way I see marriage. Our vows, our wedding day, and the unique Sacrament of Matrimony awakened in me a profound desire to serve brides and grooms with greater reverence and care.
After our wedding day, my desire to capture beauty grew tremendously. I felt drawn to document not just love, but vocation — the quiet moments, the sacred exchanges, and the grace woven throughout the day. Still, perfectionism held me back. Fear quietly convinced me I wasn’t ready, or good enough.
Then one day during Mass, I heard the Gospel reading about the talents.
In that moment, I recognized myself in the servant who buried what had been entrusted to him — afraid to use the gifts placed in his care. That realization stayed with me. I stopped striving for perfection and began creating with trust, allowing my gifts to be used rather than hidden.
And as I stepped forward, it became clear where my heart felt most alive when I was capturing the beauty of each moment our Lord had gifted us. From wedding days to sacred quiet newborn days.
That brings us to Today!
Today, I truly have the best job one I never imagined would be possible.
I’ve been deeply honored to be entrusted by families, couples, and individuals with some of life’s most sacred moments. Moments that are fleeting and holy, yet preserved in images that allow them to be remembered long after they pass.
Whether I’m documenting a wedding, a growing family, or a quiet season of life, my work is rooted in the same intention: to capture beauty as it is — reverent, honest, and full of grace.
I now get to do this work alongside my growing family, a daily reminder of the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness. His blessings continue to surprise me, and I approach each session with gratitude, care, and joy.
